Dear APrIGF Community,

The voting period of the APrIGF Elections 2021 ended on 17 Sep 2021, UTC 23:59 for the below positions in the Multi-Stakeholder Steering Group (MSG):

  • Chair Position (2021-2023)
  • Vice Chair Position (2021-2023)

There were a total of 33 eligible voting members for each position listed on the Elections Page, and 32 for the re-election of MSG Chair. 

Below are the elections results:


Chair Position (2021-2023)


(30 Aug – 3 Sep)
  • Ms. Gayatri KHANDHADAI, APC (Civil Society) – 14 votes
  • Ms. Anju MANGAL, The World Wide Web Foundation (WWW) (Inter-governmental Organisation) – 14 votes
  • Abstain – 3 votes

Total number of votes eceived: 31 votes (out of 33 eligible voting members)


(Re-election: 13 Sep – 17 Sep)
  • Ms. Gayatri KHANDHADAI, APC (Civil Society) – 13 votes
  • Ms. Anju MANGAL, The World Wide Web Foundation (WWW) (Inter-governmental Organisation) – 14 votes
  • Abstain – 5 votes

Total number of votes eceived: 32 votes



Vice Chair Position (2021-2023)

  • Mr. Waqas HASSAN, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (Government) – 27 votes
  • Mr. Shreedeep RAYAMAJHI, Rayznews (Civil Society) – 5 votes
  • Abstain — 1 vote

Total number of votes eceived: 33 votes

According to the Election Procedure, the election received over 25% number of votes out of the total eligible voting members and therefore attained quorum.

We hereby announce that Ms. Anju MANGAL is elected as the Chair and Mr. Waqas HASSAN as the Vice-chair (2021-2023) of the MSG effective by the coming APrIGF.
